WebNov 1, 2012 · I have not tested how much fuel the 6.7L burns at idle. But from days in Big Rigs the assumption was 1 gallon per hour for a diesel engine at idle. You might infer that folks are getting 1-2 regens per tank of fuel, so a regen every 12-20 gallons of fuel. Which would allow for 8 hours of idle with out needing a active regen.
