Web25 de may. de 2024 · I’m having similar issues with my R58. It started last winter with the blowers not working on cold mornings. All through summer no problems. started getting cold again and it’s playing up. No blowers for first 10 mins of any drive then it all starts working again. I have replaced the hedgehog (voltage regulator/ resistor) but still no joy. Web9 de jun. de 2015 · Only high speed would work, sometimes. I replaced the resister and that didn't work. I almost went the blower route but decided to replace the heater control assembly instead after reading some good posts on this AWESOME Forum. Glad I did it was a 30 min at most $90 fix.

Web12 de ene. de 2009 · The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the relay and may be the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. When the fan is on high, 100% of the 12 volts goes to the heater fan, as you turn it down to lower speeds, the electricity goes through a series of resistors to slow it down. the resistors have burned out and now the only path left is the full voltage path. hoitomaksut

Have bought another heater blower unit and changed the existing one and the fan speed still only works on full power or nothing. Please help!! The startup noise could very well indicate failing fan bearings--that could have caused the burnout of the resistor pack.
