The Metal Gear Solid lore is very contained, and has just a couple of references, but you don't need them to completely understand the plot, or most importantly, love the characters. Just be careful if you are an hardcore player (completist and stuff), is game is kind of painful from that point of view. #3 Splet21. jan. 2015 · You can skip 1 but definitely play 2, its where the metal gear we all know and love finally finds it's identity. I think most people are surprised by it, the in depth story and gameplay that most people love the series for begins there. A lot of obtuse gameplay sections though, its not perfect but dont skip it. SpletI've only played the MGS games though, but the original Metal Gear games have never seemed too important to play. I was fine just by knowing some of that fiction going through wikipedia pages. I'm sitting here with a copy of Peace Walker that I bought yesterday.
